STATEMENT OF SUPPORT AND SOLIDARITY

In response to the pastoral call of our Bishop, Most Rev. Isabelo C. Abarquez, DD and in faithfulness to our Franciscan identity and mission, Christ the King College of Calbayog City, Inc. stands in unity with the Diocese of Calbayog in the fight against the culture of corruption.

Guided by the Gospel of Christ and inspired by the example of St. Francis of Assisi, we firmly believe that peace, justice, and integrity are essential values that must be upheld in our homes, schools, communities, and society at large.

Moreover, in solidarity with the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) and the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP), we echo their call to reject corruption in all its forms and to renew our nation in truth, honesty, and accountability. We affirm that corruption is not only a political or social issue but a moral and spiritual one that wounds our people and hinders the common good.

On September 21, 2025, we join the faithful of Samar in a symbolic and peaceful witness against corruption by tying white, wearing white, and participating in the call for truth, transparency, and accountability.

As a Franciscan school, we recognize that education is not only the pursuit of knowledge but also the formation of conscience. Therefore, we commit to forming young men and women who will live out honesty, service, and justice in their daily lives.

We echo the cry of our Church and people: ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

Let us walk together in solidarity, let us be counted, and let us proclaim by our words and actions: “Sulong Padayon! Do not be afraid! Tie white, stand for what is right!”

In Christ and St. Francis,
CHRIST THE KING COLLEGE OF CALBAYOG CITY, INC.
