In a profound expression of faith and humility, Christ the King College (CKC) marked the beginning of the Lenten season with the celebration of Ash Wednesday through two Institutional Masses on March 5, 2025. Reflecting the Franciscan spirit of penance and renewal, the Eucharistic celebrations gathered students, faculty, and staff in prayerful observance of this sacred tradition.
The first Mass, held from 8:00 to 10:00 AM, was sponsored by the Integrated Basic Education Department, the Non-Teaching Department, and the Maintenance Personnel, emphasizing the collective role of the entire CKC community in fostering spiritual growth. The second Mass, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, was led by the Institute of Accountancy, Management and Computing Information Sciences, the Institute of Nursing, Allied Health and Social and Behavioral Sciences, the Institute of Teacher Education, the Institute Deans, and CKC instructors, reinforcing the commitment of the academic community to Christian values.
During the imposition of ashes, the faithful were reminded of the call to reflect on their lives and renew their commitment to God. Inspired by the values of St. Francis of Assisi, the celebration encouraged simplicity, humility, and kindness in daily life. The solemn rites served as an invitation for everyone to grow in faith and journey together toward the celebration of Easter.
