Community Extension Services Office

Have you ever wondered how Christ the King College of Calbayog City, Inc. can contribute in building a more just and peaceful society?

Our program provides a transformative approach. It’s about learning, serving, and bridging the gap between our school and society. We believe that by working together, we can create a more just and peaceful society.

“Learning, Serving, Bridging: The Path to Justice and Peace through Community Extension Services”.

This tagline captures the core elements of the Community Extension Services and its connection to the principles of Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation (JPIC).

  • Learning: Emphasizes education and knowledge acquisition as the foundation for meaningful action.
  • Serving: Built on the concept of service learning. Students actively engage in projects that address community needs, putting their knowledge into practice and nurturing compassion and responsiveness. This service component directly contributes to promoting justice, peace, and environmental well-being.
  • Bridging: Acts as a bridge between the school and the community. Students connect with those in need, build relationships across social divides, and learn to collaborate for the common good.

Expected Benefits: this approach offers benefits for both the school and the community:

  • Community:Empowers residents to address local needs, develops social justice awareness, and promotes environmental responsibility.
  • School: Encourages learners and Franciscan agents to develop critical thinking skills, compassion, and a commitment to social change.

Brief History

The seeds of Christ the King College of Calbayog, Inc.- Community Extension Services Program were first sown in (year). Inspired by the Franciscan faith of service and care for creation, a small group of educators envisioned a program that extended learning beyond the classroom walls.

The program’s initial focus was on literacy education and after-school programs. Over time, it evolved to address the growing needs of the community, incorporating principles of Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation (JPIC) into its core mission.

Today, our program prospers on partnerships with local organizations and faith-based groups. We empower learners and Franciscan educators to become active agents of change, tackling social issues.

Our story is one of continuous change and adaptation. As we look to the future, we remain committed to nurturing a society where learning, serving, and bridging the gap between the school and society guide our every step.
